The Craft
Fun fact: The Craft inspired Constance M Burge to create Charmed, the popular series which aired on The WB for eight seasons from 1998 until 2006. Synopsis: A newcomer to a Catholic prep high school falls in with a trio of outcast teenage girls who practice witchcraft, and they all soon conjure up various spells and curses against those who anger them.
Practical Magic
Fun fact: Practical Magic, starring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, is based on a novel by the same name. If you’re interested in reading Practical Magic, you can check it out here. Synopsis: Two witch sisters, raised by their eccentric aunts in a small town, face closed-minded prejudice and a curse which threatens to prevent them ever finding lasting love.
The Witch
There’s a reason this film has scored 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. This 2015 period film is a must-watch for horror fanatics! Synopsis: The Witch follows a Separatist family encountering forces of evil in the woods beyond their New England farm, forces that may be either real or imagined.
Halloweentown
Even though Halloweentown may not be as thrilling or suspenseful as the other films mentioned, it is definitely worth a watch! Also, did I mention that Debbie Reynolds is one of the stars of the film? Now there are definitely zero excuses to not watch this classic. Synopsis: After learning she is a witch, a girl helps save a town full of other supernatural creatures.
